Qazaq Script Converter — Privacy Policy

Qazaq Script Converter is a Chrome extension that transliterates the Kazakh-language Cyrillic text on a web page into either the Latin alphabet (kk-Latn, 2021 acute alphabet) or Töte (төте жазу, Arabic script), directly on the page you are viewing.

The short version

Qazaq Script Converter runs entirely on your device. It does not collect, store, log, or transmit any of your data, and it sends nothing anywhere. There is no server, no backend, and no network connection of any kind.

What the extension does with page content

When you click the Qazaq Script Converter toolbar icon, choose a target script (Töte or Latyn) and a scope (the whole page or just your selected text), and press convert, the extension reads the visible text of the page you are currently on and rewrites that text in place into the script you chose. For Töte it also switches the page to right-to-left and applies an embedded Kazakh Arabic font.

This reading happens only at the moment you click, only on the active tab, and only to perform the transliteration. The page's text is processed locally in your browser and is never saved or sent off your device.

What we collect

Nothing. Qazaq Script Converter has:

• No analytics or telemetry
• No tracking
• No user accounts or logins
• No cookies
• No third-party services or SDKs
• No collection or transmission of page content or personal data

Permissions, in plain language

Qazaq Script Converter requests only these three Chrome permissions:

• activeTab — lets the extension act on the current tab, but only when you click the icon. It has no standing access to your browsing and cannot reach other tabs or sites.
• scripting — lets the extension inject the script that performs the transliteration into the page you asked it to convert.
• storage — remembers your interface choices (such as your last selected script and scope) locally on your device so you don't have to set them every time.

The extension does not request broad host permissions and has no always-on access to all websites.

Children's privacy

Because Qazaq Script Converter collects no data at all, it collects no data from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new effective date.
